Retirees Chapter November Meeting

Greetings once again to the membership:

November Meeting:

Time: Wednesday, November 2nd, 10:00 am

Where: Unifor Local 27 Hall, First Street.

Guest Speaker: Dawn Harlow-Gass and new C.E.O, Lisa Callaghan from the asrTrust will be our guest speakers and will give us a presentation on the state of the fund and any changes to the coverage.

This presentation will be of interest primarily to GM retirees, GM retirees are urged to contact fellow GM retirees and let them know about the presentation.

Lunch: pizza, from PizzaRounds, a local hugely popular hand-tossed pizzeria

As per our discussion at the meeting we will be sending out a few emails through the month requesting a RSVP for those staying for lunch.

Those who filled out their names on the November lunch sheet passed at the last meeting do not need to RSVP again unless you have to cancel.

Christmas Luncheon

We will be selling tickets for the always-popular Christmas Luncheon at the November meeting. Tickets can also be reserved by emailing Rick or Peter, please include name and number of tickets in your request.

Time: Saturday, December 10th, 11:00 am till 1:30 (approx.)

Where: Unifor Local 27 Hall

Cost: $5 per person

We will have a social time with punch starting at 11:00 am followed by lunch served in the 11:45 to noon time frame followed by a draw for door prizes.

Tickets are capped at 80 and members are asked to buy tickets for themselves and a guest only.

Our ticket prices only cover a tiny portion of the costs for the event. Local 27 generously pays for almost the entire event for the retirees and we should not expect them to pay for non-members to attend.

As per the discussion at the October meeting, we will be combining the Christmas Luncheon and the December chapter meeting into one. The chapter business will be very short so as not to interfere with merry-making!

One last note, we are hoping the membership will once again show their generosity and holiday spirit and bring in a new, unwrapped toy for the local toy drive, or a small cash donation to be donated to Jenny's Angels

Hope to see you all in November!

Till then, stay safe
