Pleased to report that Local 27 Retirees were in attendance at both rallies to save the Cardiac Fitness Institute at Victoria Hospital.
The rallies were at MPP Deb Matthews’ constituency office and at the Victoria Hospital entrance.
NDP leader Andrea Horwath, London-Fanshawe MPP Teresa Armstrong and London North Centre candidate Terence Kernaghan were among those at the hospital site to pledge support for this local health-care program.
Dr. Larry Patrick, a health-care hero!, who began the CFI and has run it for over 30 years, was among the many speakers and he made the point along with many others that keeping the unit open makes both medical and fiscal sense.
It saves lives by monitoring heart health while people are using the facilities and frees up hospital space and staff for those needing emergency treatment.
